When village of Camillus residents headed to the polls March 18, change was inevitable.
Only two trustee seats were up for grabs, and five candidates vied for a spot on the board. Perhaps just as exciting as who was running and which candidates would win was the fact that residents had such an usually large group of candidates to choose from, something not often seen in the elections of small villages.
But at 9 p.m. when the polls were closed and votes tallied, Michael Montero, Canal Party, and James Palumbo, Neighborhood Party, were the favorites.
Montero and Palumbo will join the board April 1, filling the vacant seats left by the end of Ed Norcross’ term and Kurt Brunger’s recent move from trustee to Mayor.
