In a solid all-around effort, the Cazenovia girls indoor track and field team claimed fourth place during Monday night’s Section III Class B championship meet at Manley Field House. Overall, the Lakers earned 55 points, watching as Christian Brothers Academy got away from the field to prevail with 137 points. Skaneateles (95 points) and Clinton (78 points) were second and third, respectively. Cazenovia’s lone win came in the 4×400 relay, where Kara Cannizzaro, Jillian Vogl, Hollie Marcelle and Meaghan Liddell posted a time of 4:21.99 that blew away the field. Skaneateles was second, nearly six seconds behind. Vogl also helped Piper Gianforte, Gabby Jaquith and Katie Woodworth work their way to second place in the 4×200 relay in 1:56.83 as Skaneateles (1:53.95) prevailed. Laura Fitch, Liddell, Cannizzaro and Marcelle were fourth in the 4×800 relay in 10:55.34. Paige Biviano claimed second place in the long jump, going 15 feet 4 1/4 inches, was third in the 55-meter hurdles (10.02 seconds) and tied for third in the high jump by clearing 4 feet 6 inches. Molly Woodworth ran to fifth in the 55-meter dash in 8.12 seconds. Over in the pole vault, Gianforte earned second place when she cleared 8 feet 6 inches. Molly Woodworth was fourth in the shot put (25 feet 10 inches) as Chelsea Procopio got fifth place (29 feet 8 3/4 inches) in the triple jump.
