In a solid effort last Monday night, the Canastota girls volleyball team went to Sauquoit Valley and swept past the Indians 25-13, 25-16, 25-19 for its 15th win in a row.
Jessica Patterelli had enough time to earn 20 assists, plus five kills and three aces. Up front, Denae Rinaldo finished with 10 kills, as Jessica DeNova added seven kills. Julie Willis earned three kills and three blocks.
Following some rest, the Raiders went for 16 straight in a rematch with Sauquoit on Friday that ended this time in a 25-14, 25-13, 25-10 sweep.
Rinaldo, with six kills, led a front line where Willis got four kills and DeNova had three kills and three blocks. Patterelli set up those points with 12 assists.
Keeping that up, the Raiders made it 17-0 on Saturday afternoon, handling New York Mills in a 25-11, 25-14, 25-13 sweep of the Marauders.
Up front, Rinaldo mixed in eight kills with seven digs, while Julie Willis earned a team-best nine kills and DeNova picked up six kills. Patterelli had 13 assists, five aces, four kills and four digs as Sarah Willis added four assists.
Staring at a possible top seed in the Section III Class B playoffs when tournament pairings are announced this Sunday, the Raiders meet VVS and Adirondack in the last week of the regular season.
