Following some uneven play in recent weeks, the Hornets reclaimed some stability in last Tuesday’s game at Oswego, beating the Buccaneers 3-1.

F-M’s steadily improving defense limited Oswego to 21 shots, all but one stopped by Mike Poppleton. Still, Tom Darling’s goal left the game 1-1 going to the third period.

Finshing strong, the Hornets found the net twice in that last period as Ronnie Caputo and Billy Kent each had one goal and one assist. Billy Kent also scored, with Matt Esposito earning two assists.

Down 1-0 following two periods of defense-dominated effort, CBA/J-D got on the board when Cam Sylvia converted, with Heath Ferris and Gordie Gehring earning assists.

Skaneateles still pulled away, though, thanks to Packy Jones’ pair of goals. In defeat, CBA/J-D goalie Dann DiStefano had 31 saves, five less than Laker counterpart Trevor Diamond.
