As they have done throughout the last month, the Liverpool girls indoor track and field team worked to the top of the standings at a large-scale meet and stayed there. To take the title at Thursday night’s Fred Kirschenheiter Memorial Relays at Manley Field House, the Warriors needed 57 points, which cleared runner-up Cicero-North Syracuse (41 points) by a solid margin. The wins began in the 4×800 relay, where Skye Borasky, Rachel Putman, Chelsea Attaway and Trina Bills earned first place in 10:23.05, more than 23 seconds clear of runner-up Skaneateles (10:46.46). And in the 4×1,600 relay, Attaway, Putman and Bills combined with Brigid Heenan for a top time of 23:19.27, with West Genesee (23:33.76) a distant second. Attaway and Sarah Rothenberg both cleared heights in the pole vault to win, combining for 15 feet 6 inches. Harmony Cross had the top individual time of 8.93 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles and teamed with Meagan Turner for second place (9 feet 2 inches) in the high jump. Elsewhere, Jennifer VanderMeulen and Nikki Carfi got third place in the triple jump, tossing it 61 feet 7 inches between them. Armani Moore, Nachez Brown, Ashley Twum and Chenae Sinclair were third (1:55.09) in the 4×200 relay. Tatiana Gladney and Laura Racketa threw the shot put 58 feet 4 3/4 inches to finish third, too. In the boys Kirschenheiter meet, Liverpool finished third, earning 30 points behind CNS and Baldwinsville, who tied for first with 41 points. Alex Wilke, Colin Savage, Chris Clemons and Frank Johnson combined for a time of 8:24.38 that won the 4×800 relay over Tully (8:26.87) and the rest of the field. Corey Bundrage, on his own, was victorious in the 55-meter hurdles in 8.19 seconds and he combined with Joe Spernyak to win the team crown in 16.85 seconds. Bundrage, Justin Albro, Dion Dyer and Michael Samora were third in the 4×200 relay (1:38.40). Also at this meet, Wilke, Clemons, Savage and Mychal Ostuni were fifth in the 4×1,600 relay (19:32.61) as Brian Greene and Sopaul Khun got fifth in the shot put (77 feet 2 inches).
