Abe Acee, owner of the popular Nothin’ Fancy Cafe on Ruth Street in Vernon, has opened a new venture a little further east in the village: the Southside Grille on Route 5, site of the former Town & Country restaurant.
Ace bought the property late last year and spent the past several months restoring the building to its former glory. He said he and customers are pleased with the results.
The Southside Grille offers casual dining at reasonable prices, but Acee cautions potential patrons that it is not diner or fast food. He said everything is cooked to order from quality ingredients.
The restaurant opens at 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon on Sundays.
Acee is offering half-price drink specials and a free mini-buffet during some hours of operation.
