Voters in the Solvay, West Genesee and Westhill school districts voted in favor of proposed 2008-09 school budgets last night.
The $28,072,000 Solvay budget will increase district taxes 1.98%. Voters were in favor of the creation of a capital reserve fund; Lena Rose Orlando and Stephen Zalewski were voted to the Board of Eduction. Less than 400 voters turned out for Tuesday’s vote.
Westhill voters accepted the $30,389,323 budget and 3.22% tax levy increase, as well as a proposal to buy buses. Incumbent Doreen Bronchetti was voted to remain on the board of education.
At West Genesee, voters were in favor of the $68, 536,895 budget and bus proposal to replace six to eight buses. There are no changes to the school board.
