As part of national Cover the Uninsured Week (April 27-May 3), Excellus BlueCross BlueShield offers free eligibility screenings for those who are uninsured and need help finding a health plan that’s right for them.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield representatives will be at several locations in Onondaga County next week to help those who are uninsured determine whether they are eligible for government-sponsored health insurance programs — such as Family Health Plus, Child Health Plus, Healthy New York and Medicaid Managed Care.
After evaluating an individuals’ eligibility, the Excellus BlueCross BlueShield representatives can also help them complete the necessary paperwork. Appointments are not needed unless you’d like to speak with a representative at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield offices on Warren Street on Saturday morning, May 3.
Forty-seven million Americans, including 9 million children, are living without health care coverage. Those without health insurance risk significant financial hardship should they get seriously sick or hurt.
