The Central New York Community Foundation will hold a workshop to explain its new grant opportunity for arts and cultural organizations in Onondaga and Madison Counties on April 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Through its Program for Arts Capacity and Excellence (PACE), the Community Foundation will be offering unrestricted grant dollars to innovative and forward-thinking arts and cultural groups that are interested in working on a strategic organizational issue.
The goal of PACE is to support arts organizations in the implementation of their own innovative solutions to issues while making the best use of their limited time, staff and financial resources. Successful applicants are those that have a full understanding of their key challenges and are able to propose a feasible three-year action plan that leads to measurable successful outcomes.

The workshop will be facilitated by the Counsel of Community Services of New York State (CCSNYS), who will be on hand to assist organizations in identifying the unique strategic issues that they can then concentrate on in their grant applications.
Grant amounts will be between $10,000 and $15,000 each year for three years. The deadline for applications is Aug. 8. At this time, historical societies are not eligible for this grant round.
The Program for Arts Capacity & Excellence (PACE) is the Central New York Community Foundation’s grantmaking program dedicated to supporting arts organizations with improving their long-term financial health and engaging in artistic risk-taking and collaboration.
The Central New York Community Foundation has served Onondaga and Madison Counties for 80 years, receiving, managing and distributing charitable funds for the benefit of not-for-profit organizations. Grants are awarded for programs in the areas of human services, arts and culture, education, environment, health, economic development and civic affairs. The Community Foundation has over $117 million in assets and awards nearly $5 million in grants to not-for-profit organizations annually.
