For the second time in less than a week, the Liverpool girls indoor track and field team proved unstoppable at Manley Field House.
In this case, the Warriors beat the field in the Fred Kirschenheiter Memorial Relays on Monday night, earning 68 points to outlast runner-up Cicero-North Syracuse (42 points) for the top spot as a follow-up to the Jack Morse Relays just five days earlier.
Liverpool’s lone title on the oval came in the 4×200 relay, where Janeeka Benson, Nikki Liadka, Marit Schwartz and Wannetta Rodney combined for a time of 1:51.13 to beat Baldwinsville (1:53.27) by more than two seconds.
Over in the pole vault, Liverpool finished on top when Emily Chen and Sara Rothenberg combined to clear 16 feet 6 inches.
The Warriors also had a trio of runner-up finishes. Benson, Ashley Warren, Armani Moore and Trina Bills teamed up for a second in the 1,600 sprint medley (4:21.51), while Liadka and Emily Coldren got second place in the 55-meter hurdles (19.56 seconds).
And in the long 4×1,600 relay, Brigid Heenan, Lesley Bowers, Miranda McConnell and Rachel Putman combined to get second place in 23:43.64. B’ville won in 23:41.78.
Bills, Jennifer VanderMeulen, Skye Borasky and Melissa Riehl ran to third in the 4×400 (4:23.19), as Riehl, Megan Murphy, Naomi Bloomingdale and Laura Nicolais got third in the 4×800 in 10:35.44.
Jenn Culp and Kaci Williams combined for third in the shot put, earning tosses of 58 feet 8 1/4 inches, as Coldren and Jennifer VanderMeulen worked for fourth in the triple jump with leaps of 62 feet 8 1/4 inches.
On the boys side, Liverpool took fourth place, with 24 points. Corey Brundage and Joe Speryak combined for second in the 55-meter hurdles (17.54 seconds), just behind CNS (17.39 seconds), while Ethan Hickey, Bryan Picciotto, Tommy Piraino and Andrew O’Leary got the runner-up spot in the 4×1,600 in 19:05.13.
Elsewhere, Pat Single and Sopaul Kuhn were fourth in the shot put with tosses of 83 feet 4 1/2 inches, with Demetrius Pace and David Zurawski had combined distances of 73 feet 4 3/4 inches in the triple jump to also finish fourth.
Both Warrior teams come back to Manley next Wednesday for the Bob Grieve Invitational.
