Great Northern Mall has gone to the dogs.
At least, that’s how it looked in the Macy’s wing Sunday night. The seating area in that wing of the mall was filled with canine companions, all waiting for their chance to see Santa Claus. The mall hosted its ninth annual Pet Night with Santa Sunday, allowing pet owners to bring their furry friends in to the mall and have their photos taken with the Jolly Old Elf.
“We do it because many people have pets that they are incredibly close to, that they treat as their children,” said Sandy Graham, marketing manager for Great Northern Mall. “These pet owners love to be able to take their pet to have photos with Santa.”
The photo packages available were the same as the photo packages offered throughout the season at the Santa set; for a detailed breakdown of the individual packages and pricing, visit the mall’s website at greatnorthernmall.com/events.
All animals were welcome to visit with St. Nick, but dogs ruled the day, from retrievers to labs to dachshunds. Jennifer and Mark LaBrie brought their two pugs, Max and Malibu, to the event.
“They’re my babies,” Jennifer LaBrie said, “and they deserve to see Santa.”
