Don’t miss Baldwinsville’s kick-off to the Christmas season this weekend.
The village will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 24 in front of the Red Mill Inn on Paper Mill Island. Seasoned participants know that the tree lighting is just the beginning of the festivities.
Directly following the tree lighting ceremony (5:30 to 7 p.m.), families can head inside the Red Mill Inn where children will be sure to enjoy entertainment by the Twin Magicians, having their face painted and the chance to have their photo taken with Santa Claus himself!
Refreshments will be served in conjunction with the indoor activities. The event will also feature horse drawn wagon rides around Paper Mill Island and the opportunity to meet Santa’s reindeer (4 to 7 p.m.).
Making it possible
Every year, a community member donates a Christmas tree to the village for the ceremony. This year, Lloyd and Lorelei Vermette of 37 Lock St. in Baldwinsville donated the holiday tree. Timber Tree Service donated their time and expertise to cut and transport the tree to the Red Mill Inn.
Event sponsors include Celebrate Baldwinsville, The Red Mill Inn, the village of Baldwinsville, Baker Real Estate and Berndt-Michels Cleaners, Dunkin Donuts and P&C Foods. For more information, contact the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce.
