Born in Brooklyn Nov. 13, 1936. Parents were Herbert and Regina Conroy Tierney (now deceased); and two brothers (now deceased). Married with six children, 11 grandchildren.
Personal statement:
I will continue to work as a full-time public servant providing necessary services, protecting neighborhoods and the environment and promoting affordable housing and responsible land use policies that preserve the character of Skaneateles for present and future generations.
Goals:
Provide people of the town with open and responsive government.
Continue cooperative efforts with other government entities to consolidate functions for more effective and efficient operations.

Current position of Grand Jury Court Reporter, United States District Court.
Twenty-seven years’ court reporting experience in Central New York including Skaneateles Town Court, U.S. District Court, Supreme Court, City Court and Workers Compensation. Court reporter for motions, arbitrations, hearings and depositions.
Experience working with many areas of law enforcement, such as: Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of Labor, Customs and Immigration, Drug Enforcement Administration, Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and many local police agencies.
Operator of a freelance court reporting firm; managed scheduling, billing and oversight for up to four contract reporters.
Current editorial consultant to children’s book series, “The Adirondack Kids.”

Personal statement:
Over the course of my career as a court reporter, I have developed a very good understanding of the general principles of law. My specific day-to-day duties have enabled me to amass a very broad general knowledge in many areas of law, both civil and criminal, that might at some point come before a Town Justice.
In my profession, I have spent my time as an unbiased observer, listening to people present their various positions. I believe that I have in the process developed the ability to be a patient and good listener, and have developed a strong aptitude for assessing credibility.
Goals:
As Town Justice, I will do my best to assure that every person that comes before the court is treated fairly and equitably. I will strive to apply the principles of law to each individual case in a common-sense manner.
