Elizabeth Hepburn Weiss, 82, of Skaneateles passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020, in Syracuse following a long illness. Born in Manhattan, the daughter of Rear Admiral William Peters Hepburn and Willie V. Blankevoort Hepburn, she attended St. Lawrence University, Trinity College in Dublin and graduated from SUNY Purchase in 1977. She was formerly of White Plains before making Skaneateles her home. She enjoyed writing (published in Guideposts) and being a mother and was proud of her grandchildren. She was the granddaughter of longtime Iowa Congressman William Peters Hepburn, who drafted The Hepburn Act of 1906. She was member of Grace Assembly of God in Taunton.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Conor Weiss of Manhattan, John Pieter (Sharon House) Weiss of Camillus and William Hepburn (Lisa) Weiss of Skaneateles; grandchildren Phillip (Marissa), Seth, Max, Sadie, Greta and Sam.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee St., Camillus.
Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneateles.
