Former Fayetteville Village Board trustee Chris Randall was presented with a proclamation by the town of for his commitment to the community during his 12 years on the board.
Mayor Mark Olson called Randall a “respected elected official of the Village of Fayetteville” as he presented him with the proclamation during a board meeting on April 23.
Randall, a long-time resident of Fayetteville, is a third-generation electrician, a state-certified journeyman with the IBEW Local 43, an author and a construction management instructor. His continuous involvement with the village includes his dedication to FM Pop Warner, the town fire department and several community projects. Randall also has taught many local CPR classes and has volunteered for the Fayetteville Fire and EMS department for over 10 years.
In his 12 years serving as a trustee on the board, Olson said Randall served “in an esteemed manner unlike any other.”
Randall lost his seat on the board of trustees after the village election on March 20, being defeated by incumbent trustee Mike Small and newcomer Pamela Ashby.
“It is my honor and pleasure to wish Chris and his family all the best,” said Olson. Though Randall will be absent from the board, he will continue to work in the community and will be in touch with the mayor and current trustees.
“I appreciate it, and I appreciate everyone in this room,” said Randall. The board of trustees, he said, “is getting better all the time.”
“I’m honored to call Fayetteville home, and hope to for a long time.”
