The Town Board of the Town of Skaneateles will hold a public information meeting on the proposed revision of the Town’s Zoning Law on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Skaneateles School Conference Room, 45 East Elizabeth Street, Skaneateles. This is a comprehensive revision of the Zoning Law intended to make it easier to use and to implement recommendations in the Town and Village Joint Comprehensive Plan. It affects the entire town, including all of its zoning districts. The purpose of this public meeting is to present general information on the proposed Zoning Law, to answer questions, and to begin an informal public discussion process. The Town’s zoning consultant, Joel Russell, will facilitate the discussion.
The proposed Zoning Law was released by the Town Board for public review on July 26, 2017 and is available on the Town’s website at www.townofskaneateles.com. Full copies are available at Town Hall during normal business hours for $15.00 to cover the cost of printing. A brief summary of the proposed changes to the existing zoning law is also available on the website and at Town Hall.
This is the first in a series of meetings to discuss the document, receive comments, and make changes in response to comments. The formal adoption process has not begun and will not begin until the Town Board determines that the document is ready to be considered for adoption. This is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and contribute suggestions early in the process.
