Paul H. Marsden, 66, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 6, 2016 after a brief illness.
Paul was born February 2, 1950 in Northampton, MA, to the late Dr. David H. and Betty Marsden. He was a 1968 graduate of Marcellus High School and SUNY Morrisville. Paul retired in 2005 after 31 years of service as a letter carrier in the Marcellus branch of the United States Postal Service.
Paul was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and loved the outdoors, enjoying many years of hunting, golfing, bowling and fishing in his free time. The catch of his life was a 48-inch, 28-lb., Tiger Muskie, known as “Otisco Bob,” on Aug. 6, 2000.
Paul is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary “Cathy” McGraw Marsden; daughter and son-in-law Charnley and Nathan Abbott; grandchildren Aislinn, Maeve, Alyssa and Madison Abbott, all of Marcellus; siblings Charnley (Dr. Ronald Patterson) Marsden of Tacoma, WA, David B. (Pamela) Marsden of Hudson, MA, Tom (Margo) Marsden of Weedsport, N.Y., and Jane Marsden of Weedsport, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours: 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, at Ryan Funeral Home, 44 E. Main Street, Marcellus. A memorial graveside service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Highland Cemetery, Marcellus.
