The decade’s long Lenten Luncheon tradition continues.
Church Women United of Baldwinsville and the Baldwinsville Ministerial Association will again sponsor the 2012 Lenten Luncheon Series at 12:05 p.m. every Friday during Lent with a meditation in the First United Methodist Church. A 12:30 p.m. lunch in the dining hall will follow the meditation.
The series kicks off this Friday with meditation speaker Father Joseph Scardella (St. Mary’s) and St. Mary’s will also provide lunch.
Future speakers and hosts include:
Feb. 22 features the Rev. Larry Lundgren (First United Methodist) as speaker and First Presbyterian will host lunch.
March 1 features the Rev. Gary Rarick (Plainville Christian) as speaker and the First Baptist, Hillview Community and St. Mark’s Lutheran will host lunch.
March 8 features the Rev. Kathy Corley (Grace Episcopal) as speaker and Grace Episcopal will also host lunch.
March 15 features Pastor Joseph Folckemer (Hillview Community Church) as speaker and First Methodist will host lunch.
March 22 features the Rev. James Pannafino (First Baptist Church) as speaker and Little Utica Methodist and Plainville Christian will host lunch.
March 29 there will be a Good Friday service at noon at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (no lunch).
A collection of canned goods, paper and soap products for the Food Pantry will take place each week (special mission project of Church Women United) and there will be a bakeless bread sale on March 22, in which all donations will benefit the Baldwinsville Food Pantry.
