With all of its talent on display, the Fayetteville-Manlius track and field teams swept their way to the OHSL Colonial American division championships.
This started with last Monday’s girls meet at Central Square, where the Hornets picked up 250 points, far ahead of Corcoran, who got second with 93 points. The host Red Hawks were third, with 82 points.
F-M swept the top three spots in the 400, 1,500 and 3,000-meter events, and went 1-2 in the 800 for good measure.
They took turns winning. Jessica Marini prevailed at 400 meters (1:01.06) and also was victorious in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:06.30.
Jessica Hauser took the 800 in a clocking of 2:23.69. Mackenzie Carter, with a time of 4:44.75, beat Hauser by nearly two seconds, as Courtney Chapman earned the 3,000-meter title in 10:46.64. Alex Chapman got second in the 800 (2:24.14) and Meghan Anklin was runner-up in the 3,000 (10:55.36) behind Courtney Chapman.
Not content with her 1,500 crown, Carter moved over to the 2,000-meter steeplechase and won that title in 7:25.40, just ahead of fellow Hornet Molly Malone (7:26.43), who got second.
In field events, Megan Robinson prevailed in the discus with a toss of 80 feet 2 inches, just as she tied Claire Luber in clearing 8 feet in the pole vault and got second (28 feet 1/4 inch) in the shot put. Lane Brenner was second in the high jump, clearing 4 feet 11 inches, as Alyssa Hoyt took second (15 feet 7 1/2 inches) in the long jump.
Kristin Mannion and Lindsey DuPell dueled in the five-event pentathlon, as Mannion won with 1,971 points and DuPell (1,853 points) took second.
F-M prevailed in the 4×400 relay as Malone, Marini, Natalie Alibrandi and Torie Lee combined for a time of 4:12.55. Jocelyn Richards, Alex Chapman, Erica Losito and Kristyn Buchan worked together to win the 4×800 relay in 9:48.02.
