LIVERPOOL – For three weeks, the Baldwinsville girls bowling team steamed and stewed about the 5-2 defeat it took at home to Liverpool during the holiday break.
When these sides met again last Tuesday at Flamingo Bowl, it proved quite different, the Bees’ depth making all the difference as it shut out the Warriors 7-0.
In the opening game, B’ville had a 915 total to Liverpool’s 733. The second game was closer (898-833), but the Bees won again and then erupted for 1,055 in the third game to the Warriors’ 779.
That included a 243 from Julia Speich, who added it to games of 224 and 167 for a 634 series that was a close second to a 652 set from the Warriors’ Kenzi Gill.
Four other Bees were next, though, starting with Elizabeth Hildreth, who went 189, 177 and 214 in her 580 series, just ahead of Samantha Hass, who started with 189 and closed with 214 in her 571 set.
Jenna Speich peaked in the third game with 212 in her 548 series as Madison Hass shot a second-game 222 in her 535 series, all of it ahead of the second-best Liverpool series of 508 from Sara Conover.
Over in the boys match, B’ville got close to completing a sweep, only to take a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, who edged the Bees 1,042-1,004 in the first game and then scored 1,137 in the second to the visitors’ 1,010.
Scott Ritcey still had a 611 series with a high game of 217 to go with 205 and 191. Zenon Gasiorowski closed with a 226 in his 570 set, Jordan Sevigny adding a third-game 199 to finish at 522 and Charles Richads getting a 515 series. Zach Doing led Liverpool with a 575 series and 230 high game.
