The Women’s Garden Club of Baldwinsville held its annual Arbor Day cleanup of Canal Park on Marble Street April 18.
East Syracuse tree and shrub care company Bartlett Tree Experts offered its pruning services for the 10th year.
Mike Gorham, of Bartlett Tree Experts, said the company participates in several area spring cleaning projects.
“This one is special to me because it’s home,” said Gorham, who is from Baldwinsville.
The Women’s Garden Club founded Canal Park in the early 1960s and has included it in its spring cleaning projects ever since.
“[The club] planted all the trees originally,” said Kay Ptak, president of the Women’s Garden Club.
Canal Park has been renovated multiple times since its inception. The most recent improvement to the park is the installation of new sidewalks.
Gorham said he hopes to donate new trees to the park to replace those that had to be removed during the sidewalk renovation.
