Cazenovia College and the New York State Center for Equine Business Management have announced that Carol Kozlowski, president of the United States Eventing Association (USEA), will speak at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, in the Morgan Room of Hubbard Hall on the College campus.
Based out of her farm, “Mothersfield” in Avon, N.Y., Kozlowski has been actively competing in eventing for 30 years to the CCI3 level — having been long-listed for the Olympic team and twice short-listed for the Pan-Am Games. She is an “r” eventing judge, coach of past NYAJYRC teams and was the 1997 co-recipient of the eventing “Horseman of the Year” by the Chronicle of the Horse.
Kozlowski’s talk, “Volunteerism in Equestrian Sports: What’s in it for me?” discusses how giving back helps the sport and the industry overall. As the president of the USEA, she will speak about the organization’s volunteer recognition program and her own extensive volunteer contributions to the sport.
In addition to serving as president of the USEA, she also sits on the U.S. Equestrian Eventing Technical Committee, and served on the USEA Board of Governors previously for six years, five of which were in the capacity of vice president of safety.
