New Woodstock — The New Woodstock Free Library says it’s “Time to Read” with numerous information connections, a dedicated reading room and special selections of books available to borrow right off the shelves now through March 9.
The reading theme includes a room specially designed for reading with lights, seating, books and information arranged by New Woodstock Regional Historical Society President Kathleen Weimar. Library staff members have compiled recommended reading lists and arranged collections of books for easy access.
“Mrs. Weimar has created a reading area with comfortable furnishings; warm lighting and a welcoming ambiance that would make any reader want to settle in for hours of carefree enjoyment,” said Library Manager Renee Beardsley, who compiled reference lists of suggested readings for the program.
The library’s “Time to Read” theme dovetails with the CNY Reads One Book promotion of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ as the book selection of the year. Public libraries throughout Madison, Herkimer, Oneida and Onondaga Counties are participating in the reading promotion with activities, special programs and events detailed at onlib.org/cnyreads.htm.
