The East Syracuse Minoa Spartan Marching Band won the New York State Field Band Conference Championship in the Small School 1 Division held at the Carrier Dome to bring home the Governor’s cup. This is their first state championship in 22 years. They also claimed the title in 1978, ’79, ’91, ’92 and ’93. The band show was titled “The Light & Dark of Spring.” The ESM Spartan Marching Band also earned Best Visual Performance, Best Color Guard and 3rd in their class at the 38th annual James Madison University Parade of Champions in Virginia earlier in the season.
