A video installation exhibit by Norwegian artist Simone Hooymans has opened in the Reisman Hall art gallery at Cazenovia College.
The installation, called “Meet Me There – Meet Me Then,” will feature projected videos made with handmade drawings of watercolor and ink and combined with 3D computer technology to visually reimagine natural landscapes where seasons blur together to create mystical realities. Three works are being shown, one of which is a projection extending 17 feet wide.
Hooymans, who is from the Netherlands and currently living in Norway, has received several international awards and credits for her work. This year, she received an Honorable Mention Award at Kortfilmfestivalen in Grimstad. Her animations and drawings can be viewed in collections from Netherlands, the UK and in Norway.
The Resiman Hall is located on 22 Sullivan St. in Cazenovia, and the exhibit is free and open to the public. The installation will be on display until March 5.
