BALDWINSVILLE — The Cause to Celebrate Committee is back in action and is trying something new this year.
When the pandemic hit last spring, A Cause to Celebrate was forced to cancel its fundraising efforts to support the 2020 beneficiary, the Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation. This year, the committee is introducing its very first virtual event to raise money for the Schneider Foundation.
“With current circumstances being what they are, we felt our annual in-person gala was not yet in the public’s best interest, so we came up with an alternative that we are excited to share with you,” Tracy Alles, administration chair for A Cause to Celebrate, said in a press release.
“A Salute to Our Troops” is a virtual raffle that begins Saturday, May 1, and will conclude Friday, May 14. The online event consists of two weeks of online shopping. More than 30 items will be raffled off, including a wedding gown, Welch & Co. jewelry, and more. Raffle tickets are available for $5, $10, $20 and $50. There is no limit on the number of tickets you can purchase. Visit bvillecausetocelebrate.com to purchase raffle tickets starting May 1. Contact [email protected] or call 315-416-1000 for more information.
Items can be previewed online at bvillecausetocelebrate.com, A Cause to Celebrate’s social media pages, or by window-shopping in person at 11 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville.
The Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation was formed by Rick and Lorie Schneider to honor their son, who was killed in Afghanistan. This foundation carries on Cpl. Schneider’s legacy of leadership and service, with emphasis on families of fallen members of the armed forces and returned heroes. It also renders support to assist active duty, reserve and retired United States Armed Forces members, their families, as well as recovering heroes. To learn more, visit cplkyleschneider.com.
A Cause to Celebrate is an organization run by Baldwinsville businesses, whose main goal is to give back to the Baldwinsville community. Each year the committee chooses an agency or organization that could use assistance in promoting awareness and financial support to accomplish their goals in providing valuable services to the members of this community. Since 2015, and with the help of sponsors, A Cause to Celebrate has generated over $25,000 for organizations such as the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild, The Silver Knights Foundation, Purpose Farm, Vera House, and most recently PEACE, Inc.
