Canton Woods now has a medication return collection unit. This is a safe and environmentally friendly way to dispose of your unused medications. You may drop off your unused medication to the return box at Canton Woods from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Canton Woods Summer Open Rec has started! The center is open to residents 60 and older for Open Rec from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Mondays throughout the summer.

Canton Woods Book Club’s June meeting is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21. We meet in the Canton Woods library. Our book for June is “The Rosie Project,” by Graeme Simsion. Join us for vigorous discussion.
News Channel 3 Chief Meteorologist Wayne Mahar will visit the center at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. Mr. Mahar will be at Canton Woods to discuss Central New York weather. You won’t want to miss this interesting and informative dialogue.
Reiki Presentation 3:30 p.m. Thursday June 23. Sushila Shah is a Level III Reiki Master who practices in Baldwinsville. She will be joined by Dr.Geeta SanGani a practicing Endocrinologists and Internal Medicine physician. Ms. Shah will provide basic information about Reiki Energy and Dr. San Gani will speak about the science behind Reiki. Please contact the center at 638-4536 to let us know you plan to attend.
Summer Entertainment Series continues at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Musician Howie Bartolo will play your favorite tunes from across the decades. Come into the Center and enjoy an afternoon of lively music. This free concert is sponsored by MVP.
The Senior Activity Group Hot Dog Tuesdays are at 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Stop by the center and enjoy these seasonal favorites. Everyone is welcome. The price is $2.25 per hot dog or coney. This is a fun and tasty fundraiser. See you at the center!
Looking ahead to July, Canton Woods is excited to partner with the Cannonball Run 5K! The race is July 17 at Van Buren Park, finishing off with a jump in the pool at the end of the race. Summer Market Festravaganza begins immediately following the race. Plan to stick around for live music, barbecue and farmers market vendors including local produce, flowers, artisans and crafters. Canton Woods is going to benefit from the proceeds of this race. If you run, register at willowhwc.com.
Two of Canton Woods major fund raising events are just around the corner. Canton Woods’ Classic Car Show is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 8 (rain date of Aug. 15).This has become a summer favorite and is always a fun evening in on the Canton Woods grounds.
Senior Nutrition. You can enjoy lunch at the center. Canton Woods is a senior nutrition lunch site on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Make a reservation (638-4536) and stop by at noon for lunch. The nutrition program is open to anyone 60 years of age and older. Suggested donation is $2.75.
Wondering what’s for lunch? On Wednesday, June 22, the menu includes shaved corned beef and Swiss cheese topped with 1,000 Islands dressing on marble rye, honey roasted sweet potatoes, chopped cabbage salad with raisins and pineapple tidbits. Make your reservation and join us for a delicious lunch.
