BALDWINSVILLE – Between now and a May 11 trip to Fayetteville-Manlius, the Baldwinsville girls lacrosse team gets the benefit of six consecutive games at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium.
This meant a lot of opportunities to impress home fans – which the Bees did starting with its April 22 win over Shenendehowa, an 18-9 decision, and continuing Tuesday against Fayetteville-Manlius.
On the way to defeating the Hornets 16-7, B’ville was steady and relentless, cohverting enough to establish a 9-3 margin by halftime and never letting F-M pull close.
The scoring balance was nice, too. Four different players – Carlie Desimone, Mia Pozzi, Brianna Peters and Lea Otts –had three-goal hat tricks, with Desimone adding a pair of assists.
Kelsey Dwyer helped out with a pair of goals, while Peyton Dyl and Sophia Muscolino each had one goal and one assist. Ava Graham finished with five savs.
Hosting Liverpool two nights later, it was much the same, B’ville doing something similar to the scoring blitz it put together when it last faced LHS in the 2022 Section III Class A championship game.
Here, the Bees had 15 goals by halftime and breezed to a 19-9 victory, with Muscolino stepping up in a big way, notching a career-best six goals to go with a pair of assists.
Desimone and Peters both scored five times, Desimone adding three assists and Peters two assists. Pozzi converted twice and Natoli earned the other goal.
This long homestand for the 8-1 Bees continues next Tuesday with a rematch against West Genesee, whom it beat 12-6 back on April 13 in Camillus, and on May 6 when Section V’s Victor pays a visit.
