ONONDAGA COUNTY – Once again the Cicero-North Syracuse girls track and field team roared to victory in a three-team meet Thursday against West Genesee and Henninger.
The Northstars beat the Wildcats 104-37 to go with a 108-33 romp over the Black Knights as C-NS, on the boys side, lost 73-68 to WG while salvaging a split by handling Henninger 124-16.
During the girls meet, C-NS had Jaydin Mackey finish first in the 200-meter dash in 26.54 seconds and have a top triple jump of 31 feet 4 inches.
In other field events, Morgan Hayes went 16’2 1/2” in the long jump as Natta Luangaphay cleared 6’6” in the pole vault and Ava Schiff threw the shot put 32’3”.
On the oval, Kate Putman ran 1,500 meters in 4:44.14 and Hannah Boyle took the 800-meter run in 2;25.68 as Marissa Navarra won the 3,000 in 10:54.34.
Putman, Elliana Ballagh, Camryn Jacob and Sydney D’Addio went 4:24.15 in the 4×400 relay as, in the 4×800, Boyle, Navarra, Cameron Sisk and Allison Moran prevailed in 10:13.33.
Grace Murray was victorious in the 400 hurdles in 1:09.29 after Kallie Congden impressed with a 100-meter hurdles victory in 15.72 seconds.
During the boys meet, C-NS’s Joe Main swept the shot put (43’1”) and discus (123’3”) as Jackson Petzoldt topped 9 feet in the pole vault and Xander Provost cleared 5’6” in the high jump.
The Northstars won three races, Sean Graves going under one minute (59.27) in the 400 hurdles as Jacob Klasen won the 400 sprint in 54.78 and Jordan Ballard went 16.55 in the 110 high hurdles.
This took place a day after Liverpool visited Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium to face the same Baldwinsville side the Northstars had faced a week earlier in much warmer conditions.
Here, Liverpool’s girls were able to get a 78-63 victory, but the boys, despite some individual success, lost 106-35 to a Bees side that asserted its place atop the SCAC Metro division standings.
Taylor Page led the way for the Liverpool girls with her distance running, going 5:08.05 in the 1,500-meter run and then taking the 800-meter run in 2:29.33.
Pairing with Addison Ziegler, Meghan Moyer and Kaitlyn Hotaling, Page also helped Liverpool get a winning time of 10:15.13 in the 4×800 relay. Moyer was victorious in the 3,000-meter run in 11:49.93.
Mikayla Greene went 13.56 seconds to take the 100-meter dash and was first in the 200-meter dash in 27.64 while also helping Maddie Devendorf, Mia Wright and Heaven Levere win the 4×400 relay in 52.91. Layla Pearl Collins was first in the 100 hurdles in 18.21.
Over in the boys meet, Liverpool did have Ny’Quez Madison unleash a top triple jump of 40’7 1/2” as Solomon Panayil, in the pole vault, cleared 9’6”. Other wins went to Michael Purvis, who went 10:07.10 in the 3,200-meter run, and Nick Dailey, who took the 400 hurdles in 1:03.35.
