CENTRAL NEW YORK – No matter who it faces or where it faces them, the Baldwinsville girls bowling team maintains the same habit of proving too much for the opposition.
So it was again Monday afternoon at Green Lakes Lanes where the Bees pulled off its fifth shutout in six matches, blanking Fayetteville-Manlius 7-0.
Leading the way, Jenna Speich shot games of 223, 215 and 193 to finish with a 631 series, while Julia Speich had a second-game 215 in between games of 167 and 191 to get a 573 set.
Elizabeth Hildreth shot a 196 game in her 451 set, while Madison Hass had games of 155 and 144 and Samantha Hass had a 149 game. Samantha Estock paced F-M with a three-game total of 499.
B’ville’s boys team lost to the Hornets 5-2, with Jordan Sevigny’s 534 series (high game of 197) just ahead of a 531 series from Zenon Gasiorowski and 523 series from Gabe Streeter. F-M’s Sean Bird had three 200-plus games in his 634 series as Adam Koss closed with a 259 in his 621 set.
Two days later at Falcon Bowl, it was B’ville against Auburn, and here Jenna Speich was close to perfection in her opening game to help the girls Bees blank the Maroons 7-0.
Putting up 10 strikes, Speich shot 278 to start, and though a 161 followed, she closed with a 245 to have a 684 series.
Meanwhile, Julia Speich put up a second-game 246 in between a 205 and 175 in her 626 series. Hildreth had a 489 set, just ahead of Morgan Diecuch’s 487 series that featured a top game of 171.
B’ville’s boys were unable to gain a point against Auburn in a 7-0 defeat. Still, Scott Ritcey had a 223 game to go with games of 178 and 183 during his 584 set.
Streeter was consistent, his 554 including games of 191 and 189. Liam Reedy added a 502 series and 182 high game as Charles Richards got a 489 series. Auburn featured a 674 series from Eric Barski (high game 233) and 634 series from Jack Sliwka.
Each of the B’ville sides has matches next week against Cicero-North Syracuse and West Genesee, weather permitting.
