ONONDAGA COUNTY – Two more impressive victories marked the return of the Baldwinsville girls bowling team as it further strengthened its grip on first place in the SCAC Metro division and moved closer to an undefeated mark.
It started lTuesday with a 3-0 victory over Liverpool, an improvement upon the 2-1 Bees victory when the two teams first met in December at Flamingo Bowl.
Now at B’ville Sports Bowl, Amelia Ponto was nearly perfect in her third game, shooting a 265 to jump up to a 645 series after initial games of 211 and 169.
More steady, Jenna Speich started with a 245 and followed with 208 and 199 for a team-best 652 series as Julia Speich opened with a 211 in her 549 series and Lauren Gulich closed with a 195 in her 517 set.
Julia Spiech went to the forefront in Friday’s 3-0 win over Oswego, closing with a 255 after games of 224 and 211 during her 690 series.
Ponto’s 208, 193 and 210 led to a 611 set, two pins better than the 609 from Gulich that concluded with a 245. Jenna Spiech’s second-game 228 was part of a 577 series.
At the .500 mark, the B’ville boys team climbed above that standard in Wednesday’s match against the West Genesee Wildcats at Solvay Recreation Alleys.
The Bees blanked the Wildcats 3-0 as Hunter Garrett led the way, closing with a 176 game during his 478 series. Jordan Sevigny opened with a 163, his best game in a 476 set. Zenon Gasiorowski earned a 415 series.
This was after a 3-0 victory over Liverpool earned in part by Alex Mautz shooting games of 201 and 205 to close out a 564 series.
Eric Barski played all three games, peaking with a second-game 180 in his 513 set, while Sevigny closed with a 201 and Garrett did even better in the third game, shooting 211. Scott Richey opened with a 183 in his 485 series.
Then, after topping West Genesee, B’ville did the same to Oswego 3-0, Mautz recording 10 strikes in his first-game 269 that, with a 221 third game, resulted in a 667 series.
Barski had games of 231 and 214 in his 633 set, while Sevigny’s three-game total of 575 included an opening 223. Gabe Streeter shot a 192 in his lone game and Garrett closed with a 191.
