ONONDAGA COUNTY – Boys golf teams from Jamesville-DeWitt and Christian Brothers Academy remained dominant against a string of foes in their respective leagues.
The Red Rams would meet its neighbors from East Syracuse Minoa last Monday at Drumlins, and once again J-D proved too tough, prevailing 192-225 over the Spartans.
Ian Delpha’s nine-hole 37 led all individuals, edging the 38s posted by four players. ESM Blue’s Zach Johnson shot that total, matched by the Rams’ trio of Jackson Saroney, Punn Chittaratlert and Mitchell Archer.
Brian Toller added a 41 for J-D as ESM Blue got a 43 from Braedon Smith, a 46 from Spencer Bryant and a 47 from Aaron Reynolds.
A day later, the Rams rolled again, this time 184-235 over Auburn. Chittaratlert went to the forefront with a 34 to edge the 35 from the Maroons’ Carter Mizro, with Saroney adding a 36 as Delpha (37), Archer (38) and Trey Jacobson (39) all broke 40 at Drumlins for J-D.
On a rain-soaked Battle Island course last Wednesday, J-D rolled again, handling Fulton 181-209, with Saroney shooting a season-low 31 and Chittaratlert adding a 33. Jacobson had a 38 and Delpha shot 39 ahead of 40s from Archer and Toller.
That same day, ESM Blue shot 227 and ESM Orange 284 behind Oswego’s 187. Johnson shot 39 at Oswego Country Club, trailing three Buccaneers golfers – Jack Hall (36), Kevin Waters (37) and Neil Roman (38), with Braedon Smith adding a 44 and Reynolds shooting 46. Ryan Dablock led ESM Orange with a 49.
Routing Central Square 215-281 on Friday, ESM Blue swept the top five, led by Johnson’s 38. Welch had a 42, with Reynolds getting a 43 and Smith earning a 44 ahead of Bryant’s 48.
As for CBA, it rolled past Cazenovia 189-227 last Monday by earning five of the top six scores against the 4-1 Lakers at Cazenovia Country Club.
Joe Nicholson again led the way, shooting 35. Jack Gregory’s 37 was ahead of the 38 by Cazenovia’s Jack Byrnes as Jack MacLachlan matched that 38, Emmet Kilmartin had a 39 and Luke Snyder added a 40.
Moving to 7-0 on Friday, CBA handled Phoenix 221-285. Even as the top players rested, Joe Salvador led with a 43, with Ryan Wendt and Dempsey Horan each posting 44 and 45s from Kemper Matt and Scott Strait.
Fayetteville-Manlius Green would meet its younger counterparts from F-M White last Tuesday at the Cavalry Club and Green prevailed 195-218.
Velton Perry shot a 37 to again pace the Hornets, with Jack Sommers adding a 39. Anthony Ahn, Jack Antshel and Luke Weisiger each posted 40. For F-M White, Dylan Friedman’s 42 led the way as Andrew Ahn got a 43, with Duncan McDaniel and Dan Stark both shooting 44 and Tyler Burns adding a 45.
Before this, F-M White, playing at Woodcrest last Monday against Cicero-North Syracuse Blue, lost 194-224 to the Northstars.
Burns shot a 43, one ahead of McDaniel’s 44. Stark had a 45.Andrew Ahn and Parker Kaczorowski each posted 46 as C-NS Blue swept the top five, led by 37s from Carter Costello and Sean Lawler.
But F-M White would prevail 203-211 over West Genesee Gold on Friday, led by a 39 from Kaczorowski and a trio of 40s from Stark, Friedman and Riyyan Ahmed as McDaniel clinched it with a 44.
