In its first three appearances this fall, the Baldwinsville gymanstics team emerged triumphant each time.
The Bees would sweep nearly all the individual accolades during last Wednesday’s meet against East Syracuse Minoa/Liverpool, prevailing on the team side by a score of 123.80-111.65.
A close race unfolded for all-around honors, but Amory Francis won it, earning 31.35 to beat out the 30.60 from Kaye Lawton and the 30.10 from Sydney McKenney.
Twice, Francis finished first on individual apparatus, scoring 8.35 on balance beam and 7.40 on uneven bars, while McKenney won the vault with an 8.30 to edge Francis (8.20) and Marisa Moreno, who scored 8.10.
On floor exercise, McKenney’s 8.20 routine was second and Francis third with 8.00 as ESM/Liverpool’s Rhiannon Butchko won with 8.40. Lauren Millard was second on the beam with 8.30 and Ava Wazen was third with 8.25.
Two nights later, B’ville went for 4-0 in a meet featuring New Hartford and Whitesboro, but could not quite catch up to the Warriors in a 134.20-130.25 defeat.
Brooks still snared the all-around title, scoring 35.35 to edge the 35.10 from Whitesboro’s Madison Scialdone, winning the vault with a 9.20 while going 9.15 on the floor and 8.40 on uneven bars.
Francis scored 8.8 on the beam and Millard had an 8.70 behind the 9.10 from Scialdone, while the Warriors’ Kiara Khiamdavanh notched a 9.35 on the floor, 9.00 on the vault and 8.70 to win uneven bars.
B’ville’s season concludes Wednesday with a meet against Jamesville-DeWitt/Fayetteville-Manlius.
