The Baldwinsville boys swim team’s eighth consecutive win came in last Wednesday night’s trip to Fulton, where the Bees again swept through most of the individual events on the way to toppling the Red Raiders 97-83.
As a starting point, B’ville’s 200-yard medley relay quartet of Alex Hiltbrand, Nick Schultz, John Licciardello and Bailey Ludden roared to first place in one minute, 42.78 seconds.
Then Hiltbrand, Licciardello and Ludden each won two individual races, Hiltbrand starting out by taking the 200 freestyle in 1:53.13 as Schultz was second in 1:58.35. In the 100 backstroke, Hiltbrand prevailed in 58.01 seconds over Fulton’s Nate Archer (1:00.42).
Licciardello handled the task of the most arduous individual events, going 2:13.01 in the 200 individual medley, and then pulling away to win the 500 freestyle in 5:18.77.
Sweeping the sprints, Ludden, in 24.11 seconds, beat out Harrison German (24.96) in the 50 freestyle as B’ville went 1-2 there before going to the 100 freestyle and, in 52.57 seconds, again taking the top spot as Fulton’s Ean Stevenson (55.99) was second.
John Burns also won a race, going 58.94 seconds in the 100 butterfly before helping German, Brennan Gruppe and Harrison Meyers go 1:42.51 in the 200 freestyle relay, just behind Fulton’s 1:41.74.
Eric Smith got to second place in the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.96, right before the closing 400 freestyle relay where Schultz, Ludden, Licciardello and Hiltbrand won in 3:36.16.
