Make that three wins in as many meets for the West Genesee boys swim team, who went to New Hartford last Thursday night and powered its way past the Spartans 99-85.
As a starting point, the Wildcats would claim the 200-yard freestyle relay as Keegan Scharoun, Zac Zoanetti, Alex Shuron and Tiernan Guy covered that distance in one minute, 55.34 seconds.
Right after that, Matt Shoults claimed the first of two individual races when he swam the 200 freestyle in 1:58.73, going on to earn a victory in the 100 freestyle in 53.66 seconds.
Shuron, who was second in the 200 individual medley (2:21.04), would prevail in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.42. Schauron followed that same path, getting second place in the 50 freestyle in 25.72 seconds, but roaring to first place in the 100 backstroke in 1:02.57.
Zoanetti beat the field in the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.30, while Ryan McMahon was second in the 500 freestyle in 5:38.20. Shuron, Guy, Shoults and Matt Shields swam the 200 freestyle relay in 1:41.92, with McMahon, Shoults, Scharoun and Cameron Chao covering the 400 freestyle relay in 3:52.04.
Justin Byrne picked up 250.95 points to edge New Hartford’s Moaz Elazazzi (246.90) and Matt Abraham (239.00) in that event, with WG’s David Puma fourth (216.55) fourth and Adriel Schoeck (20.7.40) in fifth place.
WG would go for its fourth win in a row Wednesday night at Baldwinsville.
