Cazenovia — Cazenovia College will serve as the host site for the 2015-16 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Swimming and Diving Championships from Friday, Feb.12, thru Sunday, Feb. 14, at the college’s Schneeweiss Athletic Complex.
The action will start with each day’s event preliminary round sessions beginning at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday’s event championship round sessions will begin at 6 p.m., while Sunday’s event championship round sessions begin at 5 p.m. Admission for the event is $3 per session or $5 per day. Official championship programs will also be available for $3.
This will mark the third time Cazenovia College has hosted the NEAC Championships since swimming and diving was adopted as a conference sport in 2009-10. This year’s field will include: the Wildcats of Cazenovia College, the Bison of Gallaudet University from Washington D.C., the Express of Wells College from Aurora, N.Y., the Falcons of Cedar Crest College (women’s championship) from Allentown, Pa., and the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill from Cobleskill, N.Y.
Cazenovia College enters the 2015-16 championships as a strong contender on the women’s side once again after capturing the 2014-15 NEAC championship a season ago on the final day of competition. The Wildcats return the conference’s 2015 Swimmer of the Year and all-time record holder Nichole Secor (Fairport, N.Y.) and added the conference’s 2015 Rookie of the Year Briana Hall (Bridgeville, DE) after transferring to Cazenovia from Cedar Crest College. Other key swimmers for the Wildcats include Paige Altman (Baldwinsville) and on the men’s side Collin Stewart (Lowville).
