The Salt City Renegades Varsity Cheer Squad is traveling to Kissimmee, Florida, next week as finalists for the American Youth Cheer (AYC) National Championship Competition.
The championship is being held Dec. 8 through 12, and an event supporting the local team of cheerleaders is taking place today, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Tipp Hill Community Center.
The event admission is $2, and it will feature crafters, bakers, Krispy Kreme donuts, raffles, a bottle and can donation drive, an unlimited-play bounce house for $5 per person, and other games for the kids.
All proceeds from the event will go to the group as they represent Central New York in the upcoming competition. The Tipp Hill Community Center is located at 201 Hamilton St. In Syracuse.
Salt City Renegades Football and Cheer is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that started in 2020 and has grown to 25 members. The Junior Varsity Lady Renegade Spitfires and the Varsity Lady Renegade Diamonds recently competed in the AYC Big East Regional Competition held in Trenton, New Jersey.
