The Haven at Skanda invites you to join us for the Little Moe 5K Walk/Run to support horse rescue on Saturday, May 13.
This is a family-friendly, pet-friendly walk/run along the beautiful trails encircling both lakes at Green Lakes State Park. The run remembers and celebrates the life of Little Moe, the brave and trusting rescue pony who came to Skanda in 2013 and touched the hearts of all who met him. We organized this walk/run to raise awareness about horse rescue, and to celebrate our love of Little Moe, and of all horses, and all animals.
This run takes place on Mother’s Day Weekend to give everyone the opportunity to participate with their mothers, or run in honor of their mothers, and appreciate the special nurturing love a mother gives. Family teams celebrating Mother’s Day Weekend will receive a discounted entry fee of $25 per person, and a special commemorative T-shirt.
There will be live music, refreshments for participants at the finish line, finisher awards for everyone who completes the event, as well as special awards for winners of each age group.
All proceeds go to support the care of rescue horses at The Haven at Skanda, the nonprofit organization that cares for Central New York’s most vulnerable rescued horses and farm animals.
Same day registration and packet pickup opens at 7:30 a.m. Start time for the race: 8:30 a.m. Registration: $35 per person. Mother-child and family teams: $25 each (Includes t-shirt while supplies last).
