CazCares and Caz Fire Department team up for Christmas
CazCares is collecting items for their Christmas program and asking for help from the community. Donations of unwrapped toys and books for children 12 and under would be greatly appreciated. They are also collecting new winter hats and mittens of all sizes.
The Cazenovia Fire Department is assisting CazCares by hosting a toy drop off from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Cazenovia Fire House
“We are happy to bring visibility to the Christmas Toy Project at CazCares. Everyone at the fire department is really a big kid at heart and we love our toys,” said fire department member Mike Woods.
Suggested toy donations include trucks, cars, dolls, building blocks such as Duplo or Lego, craft or art sets and family board games. Themed items from recent movies such as “Frozen,” “Trolls,” “Spiderman” and “Star Wars” are also popular.
CazCares provides food and clothing assistance for local residents in need. The food pantry is open from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. For other questions regarding CazCares call the office at 655-3174.
Caz Rotary collecting winter clothing
Cazenovia Rotary Club will be collecting winter hats, mittens, gloves and coats for men, women and children again this year. Anyone wishing to donate may bring items to the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce at 59 Albany St. Items are donated annually to Caz Cares and, if more convenient, donations may be dropped off there.
Horses for the Holidays donation drive kicks off this month
The Haven at Skanda kicks off its annual Horses for the Holiday donation drive on Thanksgiving. Show your love for animals this holiday season by donating new and used horse supplies-blankets, heated buckets, tack, feed, veterinary services, etc., so that no horse need suffer this winter. The Haven receives these supplies and distributes them to horse owners in need. Donations will be accepted at Skanda by appointment, and in donation boxes distributed throughout the community at local shops, barns and community centers. If you know of anyone in need of assistance, contact Skanda at 815-5056. [email protected].
