PHOENIX — In the fall of 1908, Peter and John Boli were found dead in a gruesome scene in their home along County Route 6.
“The murder of the Boli brothers was one of the most atrocious ever committed in this section of the State,” read a 1909 article in the Oswego Daily Times. “The victims were thrifty German farmers, friendly with their neighbors and respected the country round by all who knew them. They were also well-known in Fulton and Phoenix where they transacted their business and went to trade.”
The Schroeppel Historical Society hosts Barb Dix and Gail Hammond’s presentation, “Cold Case: Boli Brothers’ Murder” at 7 p.m. Monday, July 18. Hear the facts as reported at the time and try your hand at solving the case.
The Schroeppel Historical Society is located at 486 Main St. in Phoenix (on the corner of routes 57 and 264). Admission is free but donations are appreciated. Visit facebook.com/SCHROEPPEL for more information.
