Session features officials from all levels of government
Manlius area residents will have a chance to hear directly from their public officials at an event planned for Thursday, Jan. 16.
Sponsored by the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce, the “State of the Area” will provide public officials from local, county, state and federal levels of government, as well as the Fayetteville-Manlius and East Syracuse Minoa school districts, an opportunity to share highlights of their agendas for the coming year.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Manlius Village Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
The following is a list of confirmed attendees for the event:
- Village of Manlius Mayor Paul Whorral
- Fayetteville Mayor Mark Olson
- Minoa Mayor Bill Brazill
- Town of Manlius Supervisor Ed Theobald
- Manlius Police Chief Mike Crowell
- Fayetteville Fire Chief Paul Hildreth
- Fayetteville-Manlius Superintendent Dr. Craig Tice
- East Syracuse Minoa Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tom Neveldine

- Congressman John Katko (because Congress is in session, Rep. Katko may be represented by a member of his legislative staff).
In addition, a representative from the U.S. Census Bureau will be on hand to discuss the 2020 Census, including possible employment opportunities related to the census.
Each of the public officials will have a few minutes to discuss events in their respective jurisdictions, followed by a brief question and answer session.
