To the editor:
I would like to start off by congratulating Dina Falcone on her victory in the election for Lysander Town Clerk. I have the utmost confidence that Ms. Falcone will aid and assist all the residents of Lysander with anything they need from the town clerk’s office.
I would also like to thank not only the people that voted for me, but for all the residents of Lysander who came out and voted in the last election. Given the discussions and excitement the presidential election created, I want to remind our residents of the local offices that are up for election next year. In the town of Lysander, we will have two town councilor seats, a town justice, town clerk, highway supervisor and our county legislator. All the above positions are for four-year terms, except county legislator, which is for two years. We need people that care about our great community and want to help it move forward, regardless of political affiliation.
If anyone is interested in any of the above positions, I urge you to contact the Onondaga County Board of Elections. Their information is available at ongov.net. They will be able to assist you in the process and contacts you need to make. If you are unable to run for an elected position, I urge you to at least watch our local government meetings, and even attend when you can. I hope that all of you have a great holiday season, and thank you again.
Kevin Rode
