Salina Supervisor
Fall is here and leaves are dropping from the trees. The highway department has begun to pick leaves up at the curb. They will continue this process as weather permits. Please contact the supervisor’s office to find out what neighborhoods leaf collection is taking place in. Don’t forget, you can always bag your leaves or place them in a barrel for Waste Management to pick up on your regular trash collection day.
Yard waste pickup continues through Dec. 15. Waste Management picks up yard waste at the curb, on the same day as your regular trash and recyclables. Please keep in mind that yard waste must be placed in open trash cans, paper yard waste bags or tied in to bundles; loose brush or leaves will not be picked up.
Christmas trees will be picked up between the dates of Jan. 2 and Jan. 31 on your regularly scheduled trash pick-up day. Trees left out after this period will be picked up after March 15 when yard waste pick-up resumes.
Winter parking rules have begun on Nov. 15. There is no parking on Salina streets, unless otherwise noted, from midnight to 8 a.m. The parking ban ends on April 15. Please abide by this rule so the highway department can do their job safely and keep your street clear.
