To the editor:
On the southwest trail beside the Seneca River is the Baldwinsville Visitor Center. Managed by the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce, the Baldwinsville Visitor Center is staffed entirely by volunteers who donate their time and knowledge to welcome people to our village.
The Visitor Center is open whenever volunteers are available, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.
Our volunteers greet the visitors who come by boat, car or foot and provide information on local attractions, services, restaurants and shopping. Many volunteers sign up for a regular shift each week during the season, while others work an hour or two when they can. Two hours or 20 hours, we appreciate whatever amount of time our volunteers can give.
On behalf of the members of the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce, I want to thank our volunteers for their service to our village. We are having a thank you reception at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Village Hall meeting room (16 W. Genesee St.). If you worked at the Baldwinsville Visitor Center this summer, I hope you will stop by so I can say “thank you” in person.
