What’s new at B’ville Meals on Wheels
To the editor:
Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels has said goodbye to Pam Smith, our cook of 19 years, as she retired. We wish her good luck on her retirement. We have a new cook, Sarah Lutheran. She is from Liverpool and is looking forward to her new position. Please stop by and say hello.
We have some great fundraisers planned for the summer. We will be at the Baldwinsville Farmers Market from 3 to 7 p.m. July 30 and Sept. 10 selling 50/50 tickets and a few surprise raffle items. Please stop by and support us.
We will be having a great summer barbecue fest from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, outside in the pavilion at Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels, 76 Canton St. The event is free to the public and Nina Dunlap will be providing music. We will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, salt potatoes, soda, water, coffee, 50/50 and more. All proceeds will go to our program. Any questions, call our program office at 315-638-2171.

Baldwinsville Lions: Thanks to the community
To the editor:
The Baldwinsville Lions have completed another year of community service in Baldwinsville and want to report on our 2018-19 activities. In the past 12 months we have continued maintaining the Ritter Community House in Community Park and provided financial support to Lions International programs. We also provided a campership for the American Diabetes Association camp for a community member, purchased eyeglasses for those referred to us by the Volunteer Center, and financially supported numerous local community organizations.
We planted and maintained a vegetable garden at Canton Woods and collected over 1,700 pairs of used eyeglasses for re-use and 31 used hearing aids for refurbishment and reuse in our region by the Finger Lakes Regional Lions Hearing Foundation.
Thank you to everyone who supported us at the White Cane events at Kinney Drugs and Walgreens Pharmacy and to the members of St. Augustine’s Church and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for sponsoring special church wide eyeglass and hearing aid collections.
We encourage you to drop off used eyeglasses and hearing aids at our collection sites at Baldwinsville Library, Lysander Town Hall and Canton Woods. We are now also accepting used smart phones at these collection sites and will recycle them too!
Thank you again to everyone who has supported us and check out our website at e-clubhouse.org/sites/baldwinsvilleny and follow us on Facebook at Baldwinsville Lions Club.
