To the editor:
Hello everyone, most of you will remember me. I certainly remember you. I’m four years retired now after serving as your town clerk for a record 26 years, and I think of you all fondly and often.
It seems to me that because of my many years as an “insider” so to speak, it may be of some value to share my opinion regarding the upcoming election.
Firstly, we have an opportunity to once again secure the services of one of the most qualified individuals in all of Central New York by re-electing Kristi Andersen. Kristi has devoted her entire life to studying, writing and teaching (at the university level) the political sciences, on which our government is based. As town clerk I had the opportunity of working closely with Kristi for many years and she is the real deal. When it comes to transparency, financial accountability and simply providing good cost-effective services for the residents, no one holds the town board to a higher standard than Kristi.
Secondly, we are luckiest when an energetic and effective member of the town board is willing to re-up and continue forward. Kristi is willing. She already understands the policies, goals and even the lawful restraints that a town board faces every day. There will be no learning curve necessary. Kristi is knowledgeable, and vastly experienced and always eager for new ideas. It’s important we don’t lose that momentum.
Finally, we each have two votes for town board members. For sure I am casting one of my two votes for Kristi Andersen. I hope I’ve shared some helpful information and you will join me in supporting Kristi Andersen on Election Day, November 7.
