To the editor:
I am thrilled to support Kristi Anderson for the Cazenovia Town Board because she is a strong advocate for children and families.
My own passion is the Cazenovia Public Library where I have served for more than 30 years on a number of committees and also extending to both the library board and the Friends of the Library. During that time, I have had the opportunity to work with Kristi who helped me to seamlessly transition into doing publicity for the library book sale. She provided me with a detailed blue print plan, met with me and also made herself available to answer questions as I learned the job. That is Kristi — a leader who knows how to get things done, is organized and has great follow through.
I also currently serve with Kristi on the Cazenovia Literary Outreach Committee. In 2009, under her leadership as president (she also served as president of the Friends of the Library) the board offered support to the satellite programs that are run at Caz Cares and in Georgetown at the Mustard Seed Food Bank to foster preschool learning and nurturing.
Originating concurrently ongoing support is given by the library to an adult literacy program, Madison County Reads Ahead, that offers individualized adult tutoring to help people learn to read, works with people learning to speak English as a second language, and also tutors those seeking their high school equivalency degree. Kristi is currently tutoring a second grader.
These programs are all about people, children and their families and they help to make our community a better place to live in. Therefore, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, cast your vote for Kristi Andersen.
