LIVERPOOL — August is around the corner. Summers can go by in one, two, three blinks of an eye around here. But there are still plenty of programs left to let you know you were part of Let’s Read, Liverpool! 2022.
The Liverpool Public Library staffers who set up programs have made sure the summer reading programs for children, teens and adults still feel plenty full.
You can still sign this year’s pledge to feel part of the reading community, easily found online at lpl.org/pledge.
LPL staff members also bring an iPad to LPL2Go Book Bike Cart Community Outreach programs to help anybody who’d like to sign the pledge. Find staffers and the cart at 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 10 and 17, at Johnson Park and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Wegmans Landing in Onondaga Lake Park.
You can find the upcoming events for children, teens and adults right for you at LPL.org/events.
Buy Local Marketplace
The big day for discovering many fantastic locally produced and created products in one easy stroll comes from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, on the Dinosaur Garden lawn during the LPL Buy Local Marketplace. Visitors will find community crafters, chefs and more, ready to sell what they make best.
Expected to participate are Upcycling for a Cause, Barbara’s Whimsical Art, Bayberry Crafts, The Color Wench, Kathy’s Alterations, Finch and Fern, The Master’s Craft, Bean Cuisine, Aries Design, Face Painting by Erna Eno and Grammy’s Yarning.
Tie Dye on the Lawn
A popular outing for all ages returns to the Dinosaur Garden lawn from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Tie Dye on the Lawn allows designers to choose their patterns to create a masterpiece to wear proudly. Bring a piece of cotton clothing, and the library provides design ideas, rubber bands, setting solution, dye in various colors and a clean-up station. Staff members will be available to lend advice.
Wear your creation back proudly at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, for the Tie Dye Fashion Show. Participants will be invited to take a stroll down the runway — the Dinosaur Garden lawn path — as fellow tie-dye fans offer encouragement, support and admiration.
Check for updates about all events as the date approaches at LPL.org/events.
