From now until the end of January, Baldwinsville Public Library and the Shacksboro Schoolhouse Museum are partnering on a rotating display of local art to be shown at the library for all to enjoy.
For those of you familiar with Shacksboro, you know that the museum is a treasure trove of local history and art. What you may not know is that there is also a wonderful gift shop, full of great holiday gifts. Because of COVID restrictions, the gift shop can’t operate in its usual room at the front of the building. This year, the shop has moved into the museum space so that shoppers can browse while maintaining proper social distance.
So, what happens to all the wonderful items usually on display? Several pieces from the museum’s archives have been brought to BPL to be shown for the next two months. Periodically, items will be rotated out and new ones put in their place, so be sure stop in to check out the new art as it goes up.
For more information about shopping at Shacksboro Schoolhouse Museum, call 315-638-2452. BPL hours are noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
The Baldwinsville Public Library is located at 33 E. Genesee St. in the village of Baldwinsville. For more information, visit bville.lib.ny.us or call 315-635-5631.
