If you’re looking to expand your at-home activity list, the Liverpool Public Library has a bag full of fun waiting to be picked up through either the Grab It & Go or LPL Express Visit services. On Monday, Nov. 2, you can make an appointment to drive though the underground garage or come into the library’s main room for a monthly Activity Pack.
Time slots can be reserved via our website at lpl.org/explore/express-visits-and-grab-it-and-go/ or by calling 315-457-0310.
Activity Packs for children are divided into three age categories: Little Learners for birth to 5; Elementary for kindergarten to grade 3; and Tween for grades 4 to 6.
“We try to include activities that can be used throughout the month,” said Joellyn Murry, LPL coordinator of the Children’s and Family Services department. “We give the basic supplies that are needed — crafts, games — all of them are tied to an educational component. The 0 to 5 [age group] is connected to the five developmental stages. The school-aged kids, we try to incorporate the different curriculums.”
November is Aviation History Month, so the Elementary Activity Bag will include appropriate educational information as well as supplies and instructions to make paper airplanes.
October was the first month for the children’s activity packs. Murry said all available packs were picked up. For November, there will be 25 each for Little Learners and Elementary, and 20 for Tween.
November will be the second month for the kits for Adults with Special Needs. It will be filled with various crafts and activities.
New in November is an Upcycled Crafts kit for adults and teens. Included will be the supplies and instructions needed to turn otherwise unwanted products into something useful and creative.
The Adults with Special Needs and Upcycled Crafts kits can also be picked up by making an appointment via Grab It & Go or LPL Express Visits appointment.
